Step 1: Open the WhatsApp application
On the welcome page of WhatsApp, you will see WhatsApp's Terms of Service. Click "Agree & Continue" to proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Enter your phone number
After accepting the Terms of Service, the system will prompt you to enter your phone number. Once entered, click "Next".
Step 3: Wait for the SMS verification code
The system will send a text message to your phone containing a 6-digit verification code. Please be patient as it may take some time to receive the message.
Step 4: How to view my verification code
Go to your messaging app to receive your 6-digit verification code. You will receive a 6-digit code; for security reasons, do not share this code with others.
Step 5: Enter the verification code
Open the verification page on WhatsApp and enter the 6-digit code you received.
- Important Notes:
You need to use a valid phone number to register your WhatsApp account. If you encounter issues during the verification process, please confirm the following:
- You have installed the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
- The phone number you entered follows the complete international format, including your country/region code (you can also select it from the country/region list).
- Example phone numbers: +1 408 XXX-XXXX (USA), +86 10-XXXXXXXX (China).
-
- Omit the leading 0 or international dialing code from the phone number.
- Your phone can access the internet, and the network signal is strong. Confirm the internet connection by opening a webpage.
- Your phone can receive international SMS.
- You are not using unsupported devices (such as iPod Touch or iPad).
- Your device is not jailbroken.
- Ensure you are using a supported phone number. Unsupported phone numbers cannot be registered on WhatsApp, including:
- VoIP numbers
- Landline numbers (Note: WhatsApp Business accepts landline numbers)
- Toll-free numbers
- High-rate premium numbers
- Universal Access Numbers (UAN)
- Personal numbers
- Every time you verify a new phone number or device, you need to enter a new verification code.
- If iCloud Keychain is enabled and your phone number is already verified, you may not need to receive an SMS verification code for automatic completion.
- If unable to receive the code via SMS, the system may call you through an automatic voice system. Ensure your phone number is correct and wait for the system's call. Wait for 5 minutes, and do not change your phone number during this period. After 5 minutes, click "Call Me."
- Do not attempt to guess the verification code to avoid being temporarily blocked.
- Carriers may charge for SMS or call services; check your billing information.
If, after following the above steps, you still cannot receive the verification code, please try the following:
- Uninstall WhatsApp from your iPhone.
- Restart your iPhone > Turn off your iPhone, then turn it on again.
- Download the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
